The purpose of the National Center of Sports Safety Achievement Award is to enhance the overall health and safety of athletic participants city-wide. To ensure health and safety is a vital priority, the initiative will require each city to meet specific safety guidelines in collaboration with local coaches, EMS, and other personnel. The overall goal of the initiative is to promote a city-wide culture of well-being through the utilization of proactive precautions and mindfulness of potential perils.

Safe Sport City Awards
ASPIRE and the National Council for Safety in Sports (NCSS) are excited to announce that the City of Hoover was honored with the Safe Sport City Award on Friday, February 7, 2025. This prestigious award recognizes Hoover’s commitment to promoting safety and well-being in youth sports programs, demonstrating a proactive approach to creating a secure environment for young athletes. The award ceremony celebrated the city’s dedication to implementing best practices in sports safety and fostering a culture of respect and protection for all participants.
