The NCSS (National Center for Sports Safety) PREPARE courses educate sports and venue personnel on sports and venue safety, sports related illness/injury prevention, and more. It covers how to recognize symptoms of potentially dangerous conditions and how to respond in emergency situations. Upon successful completion of the course, the user receives an NCSS PREPARE Safe Sport Safety certificate. ASPIRE recognizes the NCSS PREPARE courses to fulfill the requirements for Safe Sport City and Safe Sport Venue Awards.
A proven course released in 2004, PREPARE has educated more than 30,000 coaches nationwide—and the number grows every day!
The course was updated in 2025.
New courses were added in 2023 to educate sports venue personnel on the importance of sport safety and their role during an emergency.
It is reviewed and updated regularly by an expert board of sports and medical delegates.
It's a must-have course for all youth sports community members in any sport at any age.
NCSS PREPARE courses are recognized and implemented by many national governing bodies including Pop Warner Football.
NCSS Coach Sport Safety course is used by the Alabama, Georgia, and Florida High School Athletic Associations, and the Mississippi High School Activities Association.
Train the Trainer Course
The Sports Responder course trains EMS and other healthcare professionals who provide care during athletic events. Its goal is to integrate EMS with Athletic Trainers and provides a means to "fill the gaps" when an Athletic Trainer is not available for sports coverage. This course will provide further education on sports-related injuries and conditions for the overall health and wellness of the athlete. Upon completion of this course, the user will receive a Sports Responder certification.
