
Susanna Shivers – Director of Sports Science
A native of McDonough, Georgia, Susanna serves as Head Athletic Trainer with Drayer Physical Therapy for the Finley Center as well as Director of Sports Science for ASPIRE. She directs the Rest and Recovery Lab, coordinating sophisticated functional analysis and recovery programs for both athletes and the general public. Prior to ASPIRE, Susanna worked with Duke University as an intern athletic trainer for football. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from Samford University and completed internships with the University of Georgia and Mississippi State University. In addition to her athletic training certification and license, Susanna is certified in myofascial decompression, blood flow restriction, and is pursuing her Performance Enhancement Specialist certification through NASM. In her free time, Susanna enjoys working out, singing, relaxing by the pool, and spending time with her friends and family. Susanna is passionate about ASPIRE’s mission to provide comprehensive wellness to athletes and the Birmingham community all at one convenient location.
