This guidance document (“Guidance”) on event hosting considerations post-COVID-19 has been developed by USATF’s COVID-19 Working Group, composed of medical and scientific experts in the fields of sports medicine, physiology, infectious disease, and epidemiology. This Guidance is based on and includes portions of specific content from the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee guidance document on event hosting considerations and World Health Organization (“WHO”) mass gathering guidance. https://www.usatf.org/covid19/logistical-information-and-guidance-for-event-directors-and-local-organizing-committees
As we have shared previously, the science surrounding COVID-19 is constantly evolving and new information is coming out regularly. If you are conducting temperature checks and practicing social distancing, in addition to administering cleaning and sanitation protocols, continue to do so. It is important to assess the situation and use common sense while continuing to be aware and thoughtful. This recent study shows that we still do not have all of the answers regarding COVID-19, thus it is imperative to continue practicing the necessary safety procedures with diligence.
